	About Georeferencing
	Georegistration

	The maps are georegistered using the the affine method and WGS84 datum. Control points are the four corners of each map. Because the maps originate from serious elevation databases, we know the exact coordinates of the control points (and all the other pixels in the map), and we believe the map geodata is about as accurate as can be achieved with raster maps.
	Byte Order

	Map geodata is in Intel byte order. For customers using classic Mac kit (Motorola), we will be happy to supply a Mac version of any georeferenced map. Please refer to our custom map service.
	File Size

	The georeferenced relief maps are supplied as 24-bit uncompressed images (except for the 8-bit Senior World Map). File sizes might be too large for customers with a slow internet connection, and we will be pleased to supply smaller files if required. We will reduce file size by compression and/or reducing colour depth. Please refer to our custom map service.
